How we met: Kevin and Elise met by chance during high school, but it wasn't the cliched "love at first sight". Avon Old Farms' athletic facilities were being renovated so his Alma Mater's basketball team was playing their Friday night game at the Miss Porter School's gym. Kevin and his friends went to Porter's that night to watch the game (because what else is there to do on a Friday night when you attend prep school?). 

During half time, Kevin and his friends asked Elise and her friends if they wanted to play 3 on 3. Kevin was paired up with her best friend, Julia, but when Elise went to take a shot, Kevin went out of his way to block it. She was not impressed. Fast forward to after college, both had moved back to Connecticut for their jobs, and were out on a Saturday night. Kevin recognized Elise from that halftime pick up game. He approached her and asked if she went to Miss Porters School. She said yes, and remembered the rude guy that blocked her shot. He asked her if she wanted to go out for dinner. The rest is history.

How he proposed: After Elise completed graduate school and moved back to Connecticut, Kevin and Elise decided that they were ready to take the next big step: buying a house together. They looked for months and finally found their house. On the day of the close, they were so excited to walk into their new home together for the first time. They unlocked the door, walked around, wondering what they got themselves into. They made it to the dining room where Elise was debating the dimensions of her furniture and asked Kevin what he thought. When she turned around, to her surprise, Kevin was on his knee and asked her to marry him.
